Re-Establish Balance & Learn To Thrive
Fear is like a hologram - it seems real and full of substance
but when you face it and go beyond it
You Realise that fear is just an Illusion
You can limit yourself by the story you have created about you.
Here are some simple examples of how the story we have created about ourselves can limit us:
I am very stubborn. I don't sleep well. I have anger management issues, I have low self esteem and low self confidence, I have behaviour issues, I am an adolescent with issues, I am very moody. I am angry all the time. My past controls my life. My past traumas affects everything I do. I cannot make decisions, I hate new challenges and experiences, I struggle with my weight. I am always late. It is hard for me to make friends. No one really likes me. Everything is hard. My life is full of hardship and stress. Success and confidence is for others - not me. Only the rich die happy. I don't deserve happiness. My life is full of badness. I only attract negativity. I don't deserve love. I cannot be confident. I am ugly. I hate my life.
The moment you become aware of what you are saying, you can delete these things and rewrite your story!
"Every time we confront our perceptions, we come up with a pearl. We expect to find something funky, but we usually discover a prize. It doesn't happen by chance, though, it happens by participation. We have to be willing to participate, and take those first few steps." Wyatt Webb - July 2006
Why Do I use Horses within these workshops?
Horses will mirror who we are and how we are truly feeling.
Working through the groundwork exercises with the horses, issues, past self doubt, past fears, current fears; traumas, childhood traumas, are realised and resolved in the most simplest and gentlest of ways.
The horse mirrors and communicates what is truly going on with a person, using its body language.
As those feelings; emotions and hurts are worked through and resolved, so the communication and relationship between human and horse brings about a dance of release, of joy, of happiness and celebration begins.
In conclusion, I believe that one seeks the help of a horse, for the horse to help one find oneself, because one wants to:-
"The surprise is that it is much simpler than you think, that is, if you still believe in simplicity"
Interacting with horses is a portal, a doorway to finding answers; and releasing fears and blockages that have been carried around for many years. Once recognised and the blockages realised, and released total healing takes place.
Maureen Vidrine; M.S., RN CS, HorseTime, Covington, Georgia states “Being in the presence of horses promotes re-choreographing of neural and biochemical pathways with regards to memory, temporal relations, decision-making, behavioural and motor responses, threat appraisal, imagery, visualisation, stress responses, (including stress hormone regulation) attention, breathing patterns, information processing; cognitive and executive functioning .” Equine Assisted Life Coaching, allows clients to set down new tracks in the brain assisting corrective relationship experiences, being successful; positive self regard and self esteem; releasing and pairing with previously stress provoking thoughts and feelings with relaxing and pleasurable sensations.
Working with horses in a Learn To Thrive Workshop, also builds trust, in ourselves, and our own abilities, boosts our sense of self worth, our self esteem and confidence, showing the way to move forward positively and without fear.
